Dear MAWA Family ,
My sincere thanks to each and every one of you for giving me the opportunity to serve our community as the President of MAWA for 2020 .MAWA for the last 24 years has made immense impact to the Malayalee Community in WA and brought together Malayalees from all walks of life under a single umbrella.
This year however started with the outbreak of the Coronavirus which caused great concern among many communities across the world .The impact on our Malayalee community in Western Australia is no different ,with small business owners struggling, several losing jobs and international students struggling to support themselves.
As the President, my goal for the first half of the year will be to see how MAWA could be relevant to the Malayalee community during this tough time and help those in need .I would also strongly urge each one of you to be compassionate and help each other in every little way possible and keep safety and wellbeing of our family and community as the priority
I am positive like everyone else that this too shall pass. Life will go on and hope very soon we will be able to get back together as a community and celebrate our culture and festivals .I will be working with my wonderful team then to bring to you some spectacular events and networking opportunities.
If you are not already a member, I encourage you to become a member and join the community. Your thoughts and comments are very important to us and will help the organization serve the community better.
